Pastor Noel and Christy Forrester
Pastor Noel is a lifelong Georgia native that felt the call to a pastoral ministry from a young age. At a North Georgia youth camp at the age of 8 years old he accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized soon thereafter.
After high school graduation he attended Lee University (Lee College at the time, 1991 - 1995) where he earned a B.S. in Pastoral Ministry and minored in Christian Education. It was while attending Lee College that he met his future wife Christy Scroggin. They were married on July 29, 1995 in Savannah, GA.
Immediately following their wedding they began their full time ministry work together at the Snellville Church of God and Snellivlle Christian Academy. Pastor Noel served as the church's Christian Education Director and was eventually promoted to High School Vice Principal (7th - 12th grades) along with teaching various academic high school courses. Christy was a member of the church's worship team and taught four year old kindergarten for four years and five year old kindergarten for four years at the Snellville Christian Academy.
On Mother's Day in May, 2002 Christy received a prophetic word that she would give birth to the couple's first child. That first child, Samuel, was born in February, 2003. God has since blessed the couple with a beautiful daughter named Emma Grace who was born in August, 2007.
Pastor Noel and Christy accepted the appointment to pastor the Franklin Church of God in December, 2003. Since that time Pastor Noel has become heavily involved not only in the pastoral ministry but also in the Franklin community serving as the chairperson for the Heard County Community Partnership, Inc., current board member and past chair of the Heard County Chamber of Commerce board of directors, chaplain for the Heard County EMS, current member of the 4-H Extension Leadership System team and a previous member of the Heard County Elementary School Council.
